ICEBERG LUFFY

Florida Supercon
July 1-4
The Iceberg Luffy Experience
I arrived with the Miami team on Friday. We stayed in the Miami Riviera located on South Beach. I know I usually don't begin a convention review with our lodging but, because the service and quality of the lodging wasn’t the best, I have to. The hidden charges, the quality of the rooms, terrible. It is promoted as one of the better hotels on South Beach, however, I urge you to find another hotel for lodging. The room had a horrid smell, The power outlets were non existent, the location of the room from the Hotel’s restaurant. So after the con activities were done, decent rest was hard to come by.

Yet the food, and the prices of the food at the Hotel restaurant was great. the people workers were friendly and courteous. However hidden charges, and double charges totally ruined and outweighed the good food. I could not checkout soon enough. With everything that was going on with and at the hotel, it was up to Florida Supercon to save this trip. Could they do it?

Yes, Florida Supercon delivers! The convention was amazing from my first day of attendance to my last. There were tons of great panels and cosplay. On Friday, we spent a couple hours walking around the convention hall observing artist alley, and the great dealer hall. We as expected saw some great cosplay.

Saturday- The first panel that was of interest to us, was the Kel Mitchell panel. The panel took place on Saturday. This Q&A was one of the greatest of the convention. The fans had no limits on the questions they could pose for the entertainer, first known for his appearance on nickelodeon shows. It was an hour of great questions, nostalgia and a great Q&A. What does Kel Mitchell say towards the end of his panel... “Who Loves Iceberg Luffy, Kel loves Iceberg Luffy! Is it true?!!! I do, I do, I doo Ooh.” That without question is one of the biggest highlights not only of this convention, or this year, but it is one of the highlights of my professional career.

The next panel was my panel “Social Media And Anime” I featured team member Cliff Coleman We covered social media on an in depth level, touching on the various aspects of social media management. It was amazing to see individuals come out learn from the panel, We fielded questions in both the beginning and end of the panel. However the best part of the panel, was at the end where people deliberately stopped me to thank me for sharing information. That ended my Saturday panel rush.

On Sunday, the anime programming was sensational. The only bad thing to say about the anime Viewing room, was that the programming was so well put together, that you may have wanted to stay in the room longer than you intended. I had to force myself to leave.

The next panel of interest featured Jon Schnepp who is a Director, writer, producer, and entertainer. This was a Q&A. He’s best known for his work on the popular space Ghost Coast to coast. The questions received varied. Technical aspects of editing was a major focus on this panel.

Beyond the panels, was the great attendees that I met. Some individuals were Iceberg Luffy twitter followers. Meeting other community members at a convention is always a highlight that can never be duplicated.

I have to say that the transportation going from the Hotel to the convention was very convenient and timely.

Subtracting the horrible hotel experience, Florida Supercon was an amazing experience, that I definitely look forward to returning to.
